ZHI 3278 OI

ZHI 3278 OI is a mid-season hybrid of sweet corn of the SH2 type, possessing high taste qualities and high sugar content (12-13 Brix). The hybrid's vegetative period is 82 days, during which full-formed cobs form, measuring up to 25 cm in length and 5.5 cm in diameter with bright yellow kernels 13-14 mm deep and 18 rows. The plant is compact but powerful, with a developed root system, which ensures resistance to lodging and adverse growing conditions.

The hybrid is distinguished by high resistance to a range of diseases, including corn mosaic dwarfism virus, leaf helminthosporiosis, rust, and southern blight. It also shows resistance to herbicides containing mesotrione and tembotrione. Thanks to its adaptability and stress resistance, ZHI 3278 OI is successfully grown in open ground across Ukraine and other regions specializing in super-sweet corn production.

The hybrid is intended for the fresh market, as well as for processing and freezing. It is characterized by high yield potential – according to research data, the average yield is about 24.4-24.7 tons per hectare. The corn is well pollinated, cobs are fully filled with grain, and the thin cob ensures quality grain cutting. Additionally, the hybrid is distinguished by good transportability and storage, making it in demand among producers and processors.
