Description Derzhava
Winter rape (Brassica rapa L. subsp. campestris) is a non-erucic, low-glucosinolate plant intended for the production of oilseeds. The vegetative period is 317 days, and the early flowering time allows for harvest at the beginning of the season. The plant reaches a height of 30 cm, possesses long side branches, and is resistant to lodging (4 points) and shattering (5 points). Seeds weigh 3.5 g per 1000 pieces, fat content is 45.5%, and seed yield is 33.2 c/ha.

Winter rape is characterized by high resistance to various pathogens: moderate resistance to alternaria, high resistance to bacterial root rot, phoma, and peronosporosis, as well as protection against blackleg. The plant has good winter hardiness (5 points) and drought tolerance (5 points), making it suitable for cultivation under water-limited conditions.

Additionally, winter rape is a valuable forage and honey-producing crop. As forage, it provides 250–400 kg of green mass per hundred square meters, and with mass planting, it can yield up to 40–50 kg/ha of honey with a greenish-yellow tint. Rape honey differs in its high glucose content, which leads to rapid crystallization and makes it unsuitable for wintering bees. Nevertheless, the plant remains in demand in the agro-industrial complex thanks to its many beneficial properties.
