Sunflower variety VA 830 SUR is an ultrapreearly variety with a vegetation period of 72 to 80 days, allowing for a second crop per year after winter crops. This variety is characterized by its low stature (140-148 cm) and has dark gray, medium-sized, round seeds. The flower head diameter is 19-23 cm, facilitating harvest convenience. Due to its high resistance to lodging, drought, and cold, this variety is suitable for cultivation in all climatic zones of Ukraine, including northern regions with a frost-free period of at least 110 days.
VA 830 SUR has a high yield potential, reaching 2-3 tons per hectare (20-30 c/ha), and a high oil content in seeds, making it attractive for oilseed industry. The variety is resistant to downy mildew, including five races (A-E), providing additional protection and yield stability. The plant withstands frosts down to -7°C, and the latest sowing date is set for July 20, expanding agronomic planning options.
The cultivation technology for this variety is conventional, and seeds are supplied treated with thiram 400 g/l, thiabendazole 20 g/l, and metalaxyl-M 116 g/l, providing protection against diseases and pests. The sowing unit weighs 8.7 kg, and each bag contains approximately 150,000 seeds. All these characteristics make VA 830 SUR a reliable and efficient choice for farmers seeking a stable and high-quality sunflower crop.
