Transol sunflower is a medium-early classic hybrid of extensive type developed by the Swiss company "Syngenta". It is adapted to various climatic conditions in Ukraine, including dry regions of the Southern Steppe, where it demonstrates high productivity and stable yields. The hybrid features a rapid start of the vegetative period due to high growth energy in early development stages, which facilitates successful rooting and plant development even under limited water availability.
Transol has a medium oil content up to 48%, making it attractive for processing in the food industry and other applications. Plant height ranges from 150 to 170 cm, which is above average, while the hybrid has medium resistance to lodging. A notable feature is its high tolerance to volunteer chicory A–G*, enabling cultivation on infested soils without significant yield loss. At the same time, the hybrid has low resistance to Phoma, so it is recommended to avoid planting on fields with high infection levels of this disease and strictly follow crop rotation and standard soil tillage practices.
To provide protection during early growth stages, Transol seeds are additionally treated with the insecticide Cruiser, ensuring effective protection against pests. The recommended planting density is 35–45 thousand plants per hectare, with a potential yield reaching 50 centners per hectare. Thanks to its characteristics and adaptability, Transol sunflower is a universal hybrid suitable for cultivation in various agroclimatic zones of Ukraine, ensuring stable and high-quality yields even under drought conditions.
