Sunflower LG 50450

Sunflower LG 50450 is a mid-early to early high-yielding linoleic-type hybrid developed by Limagrain. Plants are medium-height, reaching an average height of about 150 cm, with a flower head diameter of approximately 17 cm and an average thousand-seed weight of 69.5 g. The hybrid exhibits high initial growth energy, promoting rapid development and resilience to adverse conditions during the early vegetative stage.

LG 50450 has high drought tolerance and adaptability to various growing conditions, making it an optimal choice for regions with insufficient and adequate moisture. The recommended seeding rate is 45-50 thousand seeds per hectare under insufficient moisture and up to 55 thousand under adequate moisture. The hybrid is resistant to races of downy mildew A-G, new strains of false powdery mildew, and tolerant to major diseases, including Phomopsis, root and head rot, anthracnose, and Fusarium. It also shows resistance to rust, alternaria, and septoria.

Sunflower LG 50450 is recommended for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones, particularly in southern and eastern Ukraine. Thanks to its short vegetation period and stable yield potential, the hybrid forms an early and stable yield even under drought conditions. It combines well with other hybrids such as LG5580 and Tunka, and is suitable for intensive cultivation techniques, including late sowing. Its high oil content and lodging resistance make LG 50450 a profitable choice for farmers seeking a stable and high-quality yield.
