Description Sanstar
Sunstar Sunflower is an intensive linoleic-type hybrid developed for high yield and oil content. Thanks to modern genetics, this hybrid demonstrates rapid early growth and can realize its potential when grown on fertile soils with high agronomic standards. Sunstar is adapted for the Clearfield Plus production system, providing resistance to a broad spectrum of diseases and stress factors, including drought, fusarium, sclerotinia, and downy mildew (strains A-E). Yield potential reaches 5 tons per hectare at the recommended planting density of 50-65 thousand plants per hectare.

The plant features a single-flower type with a flower head diameter of 12-13 cm and heart-shaped leaves with serrated and toothed margins. Leaf size varies from 7.5 to 15 cm, promoting efficient photosynthesis and plant development.

For harvesting Sunstar sunflower, it is recommended to use Geringhoff's Sun Star family harvesters, which provide high performance with minimal costs. These harvesters are available in fixed and folding configurations and can be equipped with a shredder in the Sun Star Horizon version. A key feature of these harvesters is gentle handling of stems without shaking, significantly reducing yield losses. The design includes drive via gearboxes without belts or chains, reducing energy consumption and maintenance requirements. Sequential transmission boxes require no maintenance, enhancing safety and lowering operational costs. Sun Star harvesters operate effectively even with uneven rows and varying row widths, ensuring reliable and high-quality sunflower harvest.
