Sunflower "Sunshine Mood" is a simple early-maturing hybrid with a vegetation period of about 100 days, developed for extensive cultivation technology. It is characterized by rapid development in early growth stages, ensuring high competitiveness in weed-infested fields before the application of tribenuron-methyl herbicide. Plants reach a height of 170-180 cm, have a convex flower head with a diameter of 22-24 cm, and a seed moisture content of 20-21%.
The hybrid exhibits high resistance to diseases, pests, and stress conditions, including high tolerance to five races of the sunflower moth (A-E). Resistance to rust is rated at 9 points, while resistance to fusarium, fusarium, gray and white mold, as well as powdery mildew, is rated at 7-8 points. Additionally, "Sunshine Mood" shows high resistance to sunflower moth, which contributes to yield preservation.
This hybrid has a high yield potential — up to 51 c/ha (5.1 t/ha), with an average yield of about 34 c/ha. Oil content in the seeds is at the level of 50-52%, which is a high indicator among SU-hybrids. "Sunshine Mood" is suitable for cultivation in the Forest-Steppe and Steppe regions of Ukraine, combining high productivity, resistance, and oil quality, making it a profitable choice for agricultural producers.
