Sunflower STK101

Consistent performance in the field

Selecting the right sunflower hybrid is all about predictability. The simple hybrid STK101 from Soytek S.R.L has proven itself as a reliable crop that tolerates minor variations in agricultural practices while maintaining uniform stand establishment and high-quality head development. Developed by originator Stelian Fuia, this genetic material is optimized to maximize water-use efficiency throughout the growing season.

Field management and harvest

STK101 shows excellent lodging resistance, which is critical during late-season winds and rain. The stalk is sturdy yet easy to cut, which prevents stress on the header. During threshing, the seeds release cleanly, and harvest losses are kept to a minimum if drum speeds are adjusted correctly. Seed moisture levels at maturity typically allow for immediate harvest, reducing the need for artificial drying and lowering fuel costs.

Cultivation insights

• Planting density: The hybrid responds well to optimal spacing; avoid overcrowding to ensure access to light and nutrients.
• Resilience: It demonstrates solid immunity to regional pathogens, which may allow for a reduction in fungicide applications.
• Soil adaptability: It performs exceptionally well on medium to heavy loams, where the root system can tap into deep-profile soil moisture.

Using seed from Soytek S.R.L provides peace of mind due to high seed purity and excellent germination vigor. This translates into cleaner fields and less work on mechanical weeding. For farmers focused on balancing seed costs with end-of-season yields, STK101 is a reliable asset for planning a profitable harvest.
