Sunflower High-Oleic Sunflower Hybrid A 59

Working with GSF A 59

When selecting a sunflower hybrid, the goal is always to find the perfect balance between yield potential and ease of management. The GSF A 59 hybrid from Ooo Galaktika is a strong contender for those who prioritize efficiency and disease protection in their crop management plan.

Herbicide Management and Growth

The standout feature of this hybrid is its compatibility with the Clearfield (Euro-Lightning) production system. For a farm manager, this translates to clean fields and fewer passes with the sprayer. In practice, the hybrid handles the herbicide load well, showing no growth stagnation and recovering quickly, which is vital during its 110–120 day growing cycle.

Disease Resilience

The breeding work led by Zolotarev and Yakovenko has resulted in a crop with robust phytosanitary health. GSF A 59 demonstrates notable tolerance against common threats like Verticillium, Sclerotinia, and Phomopsis. Its resistance to downy mildew (peronospora) is a real asset in regions with high infection pressure. With a plant height of 160–170 cm, it stands strong, minimizing lodging and making the harvesting process straightforward for combine operators.

Performance and Quality

Expect consistent oil content between 45% and 50%. This hybrid responds well to intensive agricultural practices but remains predictable, which helps in planning logistics and harvesting schedules. It is a no-nonsense choice that provides stability in both yield and oil quality.

• Optimized for the Euro-Lightning system.
• Strong defense against peronospora, rust, and Phomopsis.
• Consistent oil content (45–50%).
• Height of 160–170 cm ensures easy, low-loss harvesting.
