Description SAONA
SAONA sunflower is an early semi-intensive hybrid characterized by high profitability and adaptability to various climatic conditions, including Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polесье. This hybrid features a short period from emergence to flowering — 65-67 days — which reduces the negative impact of air and soil drought on yield. Thanks to its strong initial growth energy and high drought resistance, SAONA successfully competes with weeds, reducing herbicide costs and ensuring stable yields even under challenging conditions. The hybrid has a high oil content in seeds — 48-50% — making it attractive for oil production. Additionally, SAONA exhibits genetic resistance to seven races of the sunflower moth and high tolerance to major sunflower diseases such as Phomopsis, sclerotinia, rust, verticillium wilt, and black mold. These qualities ensure reliable and stable yields while reducing the need for intensive chemical plant protection. SAONA sunflower seeds are clean and confectionery-grade, suitable not only for oil production but also for food applications. They are used to prepare sauces, plant-based cheeses, and added to salads. The seeds have good uniformity and are suitable for germination. For optimal benefits, it is recommended to pre-soak the seeds in water, which aids in their recovery and improves nutritional value.
