Sunflower OR 206

French genetics for consistent performance

In the sunflower market, the OP 206 hybrid from Lidea occupies a niche of high-efficiency solutions for farms focused on early maturation and high-quality raw materials. Developed by the originator based in Airaines, France, this hybrid embodies European breeding standards, where the balance between developmental intensity and pathogen resistance is a defining factor.

Agronomic profile and protection

A key advantage of OP 206 is its ability to minimize risks in conventional cultivation. A vegetation period of 90–100 days allows for successful production in regions with shorter summers or when fields need to be cleared early for winter crops. Lidea's breeders have focused heavily on the phytosanitary status of the crop, embedding high resistance to a complex of common diseases into its genetic makeup:

• Full control over Sclerotinia and Phomopsis, which is critical in high-humidity conditions.
• High tolerance to powdery mildew.
• Genetic resistance to downy mildew (Peronospora), reducing the need for excessive early-stage fungicide applications.

Grain quality and economics

The medium size of the seeds and the flower head ensures easy threshing and high-quality commercial grain. When cultivation technologies are followed, OP 206 demonstrates stable oil accumulation within the 45–50% range. This makes it an attractive choice for producers supplying processing plants, where oil content is a primary pricing factor. OP 206 is the choice for agronomists who prioritize predictability and reliability, backed by the authority of the French Lidea school of breeding.
