Sunflower P64LE218

Field Strategy of P64LE218: Drought Tolerance and Potential

The P64LE218 hybrid from Corteva Agriscience is a breeding response to the climatic challenges of recent years. Developed in Romania and officially registered in Ukraine in 2026, this sunflower is focused on stability under moisture deficit conditions. In field trials, the hybrid demonstrates high adaptability, making it a reliable tool for farmers operating in high-risk agricultural zones.

Agronomic Profile and Resistance

• Stress Response: F1 genetics ensure high tolerance to extreme temperatures. The plant effectively manages transpiration, maintaining metabolic activity even during prolonged dry spells.
• Phytosanitary Status: The hybrid possesses complex resistance to key sunflower pathogens. This reduces the need for intensive fungicide protection, allowing for optimized costs per hectare.
• Agrotechnical Features: The stem has high structural integrity, minimizing the risk of lodging even under strong wind loads before harvest. A deep-type root system allows the plant to efficiently utilize moisture from lower soil horizons.

P64LE218 shows stable results across various soil types, although its maximum potential is realized when optimal sowing dates are observed. Due to its plasticity, the hybrid successfully adapts to the soil and climatic conditions of most regions in Ukraine, ensuring predictable yields and high seed quality.
