About product
An intensive Serbian hybrid with high yield potential and excellent adaptability to various growing conditions.
Description
Agronomic Management of Sol Invictus
The Sol Invictus hybrid, developed by COSUN CEREALS DOO and entering the Ukrainian market in 2026, requires precise field management to maximize its genetic yield potential. Success begins with crop rotation: avoid planting after sunflowers or other crops susceptible to similar soil-borne diseases.
Sowing Guidelines and Plant Density
Sowing should commence when soil temperatures at seeding depth reach +10...+12°C. Early planting is recommended to capitalize on spring moisture. The final plant population should be adjusted based on local moisture availability:
- High-moisture zones: 55,000–60,000 plants per hectare.
- Arid regions: 45,000–50,000 plants per hectare.
Seeding depth should be maintained between 4–6 cm. Ensuring uniform seed-to-soil contact is essential for rapid and even emergence.
Crop Nutrition and Maintenance
Sol Invictus responds well to balanced fertilization. Nitrogen should be applied during pre-sowing cultivation or at the time of planting. The most critical stage for nutrient management is the 4–6 true leaf phase. During this period, the plant is highly sensitive to boron deficiency. Foliar application of boron is essential to optimize pollination and ensure proper head development.
Weed control must be proactive. As an intensive hybrid, Sol Invictus grows vigorously, but early-season weed competition must be eliminated to prevent yield loss. Integrated pest management should focus on monitoring for common sunflower pests during the budding stage to protect the crop's reproductive potential.
