GRIZZLY

Grizzly sunflower hybrid is a mid-early variety with a vegetative period of 100 to 107 days, developed by the Ukrainian breeding company NK «Gran». This hybrid is characterized by high drought resistance and is adapted for cultivation on various soil types, making it particularly in demand in forest-steppe zones and regions with insufficient moisture. The plants are characterized by even seedlings, lodging resistance, and high winter hardiness, ensuring crop stability under complex climatic conditions.

Morphologically, Grizzly has a large convex head with a diameter of 18-21 cm and a semi-inclined position, which reduces damage from birds. Plant height reaches 170-185 cm. Seeds are large, striped, and have a high oil content of about 50-52%, making the hybrid attractive for the production of both oil and confectionery raw materials. The yield potential of the hybrid is up to 55 c/ha, while the average yield over the years of testing fluctuates within 39-42 c/ha.

Grizzly has high resistance to major diseases and stress factors, including black leg, peronosporosis, phomopsis, rust, gray and white mold, as well as sunflower moth and various races of the sunflower parasite - witchweed. To achieve maximum yield, it is recommended to use a three-level nutrition system with fertilizers applied during primary soil tillage, pre-sowing application, and foliar feeding. The hybrid is released in the "elite" seed class and packed in 8 kg bags, ensuring convenient storage and transport.
