Gena

Gena sunflower is a medium-maturing spring hybrid developed by Serbian selection and adapted to Ukrainian conditions. The vegetation period is 106-110 days, allowing the hybrid to successfully grow in various climatic zones, including the Forest-Steppe, Central, and Southern Steppes. Plants reach a height of 170-190 cm, with a strong and sturdy stem, promoting a stable yield. Gena is characterized by high growth intensity in early vegetation stages and good leafiness, with 14 to 16 leaf pairs per stem. The hybrid has a high yield potential, exceeding 50 centners per hectare, and may reach over 55 centners per hectare under optimal conditions. Oil content in seeds reaches 52%, and oil extraction rate is 22-24%, ensuring high processing efficiency. Recommended plant density varies by region: 50-54 thousand/ha for the Forest-Steppe, 46-50 thousand/ha for the Central Steppe, and 42-46 thousand/ha for the Southern and dry Steppe. This approach maximizes the hybrid’s potential and ensures stable yields. Gena exhibits resistance to major sunflower diseases, including powdery mildew, rust, downy mildew, and sunflower moth, reducing yield loss risks and minimizing the need for intensive chemical protection. The hybrid is grown using traditional technology recommended by the Institute of Vegetable and Seed Production of the AF "Sady Ukrainy". Elite seeds are non-GMO and produced in Ukraine by the company Centrum. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, Gena sunflower is a reliable choice for farmers seeking high yield and quality produce.
