EXPLOR is a high-oleic hybrid of sunflower of the intensive type, developed for the Clearfield system and resistant to the herbicide Euro-lighting. It has a high yield potential in its segment, reaching 4.5-5.5 tons per hectare, and is characterized by good growth rates at early development stages. The hybrid optimally reveals its potential on fertile soils with a high level of agrotechnology and is suitable for cultivation in all regions of Ukraine, including the Steppe and Forest-steppe. The maturity period is medium — 106-115 days, plant height is 150-170 cm. The recommended sowing density varies depending on the soil moisture level and ranges from 40 to 60 thousand plants per hectare. Seeds are treated with Cruiser (Thiamethoxam 350 g/l) for pest protection.

The feature of the hybrid is the high content of oleic acid in the oil — up to 90% when spatial isolation and favorable weather conditions are observed, which makes it especially valuable for the production of high-quality oil. Seed oleosity is not less than 50%, which ensures high processing efficiency. To achieve maximum yield and product quality, it is important to provide the sunflower with full mineral nutrition at all development stages. During the formation of heads and seed filling, plants need nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, with nitrogen being especially important during the phase of intensive growth of stems and leaves.

Phosphorus promotes the development of the root system and reproductive organs, which directly affects oil accumulation in seeds. Among microelements, boron plays a key role, which is necessary during the 5-leaf stage before the appearance of buds and flowers, as well as sulfur, the need for which is significantly higher than for grain crops. To eliminate microelement deficiency, the use of chelated fertilizers and application of potassium sulfate on sulfur-poor soils is recommended. Such a comprehensive approach to agrotechnology allows to maximize the potential of the EXPLOR hybrid and obtain stable high yields.
