ES ARTIK sunflower hybrid is a highly productive early-maturing oleic type variety developed by the European company Euralis. It is characterized by a high content of oleic acid in seeds — from 91 to 92%, which ensures high oil quality. The phenological period of the hybrid is 100-110 days, with a period from germination to flowering of about 69 days and to harvest — 107 days. Plants reach a height of up to 180 cm, have thin, correctly shaped heads with a diameter of about 20 cm, mostly semi-drooping, and the mass of 1000 seeds is approximately 60 grams. Seeds are black, large, and fully filled, which contributes to high oil content — up to 52%.
ES ARTIK is distinguished by high resistance to various diseases and stress conditions. The hybrid is tolerant to sunflower dodder, resistant to 7 races (A-G), and also shows high resistance to phoma, sclerotinia of head and stem types, verticillium wilt, and phoma. Stress tolerance of the hybrid is rated at 7 out of 9 points, drought resistance is 8 points, and lodging resistance is 7 points. These characteristics make ES ARTIK undemanding and adapted to various soil and climatic conditions, which allows obtaining stable and high yields even in unfavorable conditions.
Recommended growing zones for the hybrid include Polesie, Forest-steppe, and Steppe of Ukraine. To achieve maximum yield, it is recommended to maintain optimal planting density: 60-65 thousand plants per hectare in zones with sufficient moisture and 50-55 thousand plants per hectare in zones with insufficient moisture. The potential yield level of the hybrid reaches 46 centners per hectare (4.7 t/ha). Thanks to the combination of high productivity, disease and stress resistance, and high oil quality, ES ARTIK is a profitable choice for modern agrarians.
