Sunflower CSF 8901

Performance and Stability of CSF 8901

The CSF 8901 sunflower hybrid, developed by Caussade Semences, is designed for farmers who prioritize consistency and crop protection. Coming from France, this hybrid is well-regarded for its adaptability to various field conditions, making it a reliable asset for intensive farming operations.

Disease Resistance as a Core Benefit

One of the strongest practical advantages of CSF 8901 is its robust genetic profile against key pathogens. By providing high resistance to Sclerotinia, Peronospora, Phomopsis, and Phoma, it significantly mitigates the risk of yield loss. This resilience allows growers to optimize their spray programs, reducing the need for constant fungicide intervention while maintaining crop health throughout the season.

Morphological Traits for Efficient Harvesting

The hybrid stands at an average height of 100–120 cm, featuring a compact, flattened head. Its narrow egg-shaped, black seeds are optimized for efficient threshing, allowing for smooth operation during the harvest phase. Key attributes include:

• Stem height: 100–120 cm.
• Disease resistance: Proven protection against major fungal diseases.
• Head type: Medium-sized, flattened.
• Seed structure: Narrow egg-shaped, black seeds.

By choosing CSF 8901, farmers can expect a balanced plant structure that resists lodging while ensuring high-quality, uniform grain production, ultimately leading to higher profitability at the elevator.
