Aurora AM

The hybrid sunflower Aurora, developed by the selection company LLC 'AF NPP AGROMIR', was officially registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2021. This high-oil and intensive hybrid is characterized by high productivity and is adapted to conditions of steppe and forest-steppe zones. The vegetation period is approximately 105 days, and plant height reaches 150 cm, which contributes to efficient use of autumn-winter-spring moisture and provides resistance to drought and heat. The flower head diameter is 19-20 cm, and the 1000-seed mass is 60-70 g, which is optimal for achieving high yields.

Aurora demonstrates high yield potential — from 3.7 to 4.2 t/ha, with a maximum recorded yield of 52.5 centners/ha in 2020 at the Karlovsky Variety Testing Station in Poltava Oblast. The oil content of the hybrid reaches 50-52.1%, ensuring oil collection within 1.5-2.0 t/ha. In 2019 and 2020, the hybrid significantly exceeded average yield indicators of registered hybrids, including by 31% overall, by 25% in the steppe zone, and by 36-60% in the forest-steppe zone, confirming its high productivity even under drought conditions.

In addition to high yield and oil content, Aurora exhibits resistance to major sunflower diseases, including various races of downy mildew (A–F) and non-true powdery mildew (race 730). The recommended seeding rate is 60-65 thousand plants per hectare, which promotes optimal development and maximum utilization of the hybrid's potential. Due to its combination of high drought resistance, early maturity, and disease resistance, the hybrid Aurora is a profitable and reliable choice for sunflower producers in Ukraine.
