SARATOVSKY 21

The sunflower hybrid Saratovsky 21 is a promising mid-early variety developed by breeders of the Federal Agricultural Scientific Center of the South-East. It is intended for cultivation in the Lower Volga region and has a vegetation period ranging from 92 to 95 days. Plants reach high height at maturity, which contributes to good yield formation.

Over the years of research conducted under the competitive variety testing methodology, Saratovsky 21 demonstrated high seed yield and oil content. The average seed yield in the region amounted to approximately 16.8 centners per hectare, exceeding the yields of standard varieties such as Sкороспелый 87 and Saratovsky 20 by 0.3 and 0.1 centners per hectare, respectively. The 1000-seed mass reaches 59.6 g, and the average oil content in the seeds is 48%, ensuring an oil yield of 9.4 centners per hectare.

The variety is characterized by stability and high productivity, making it attractive for farmers focused on obtaining high-quality raw material for the oil and fat industry. Due to its features, Saratovsky 21 has been successfully included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements and is recommended for use in the Lower Volga region.
