SY AVENGER — this is a universal sunflower hybrid developed by Syngenta and intended for the Clearfield® production system. It has an early maturing type with a vegetative period of about 100-116 days, allowing its use in various soil-climatic conditions throughout Russia. The hybrid is adapted to zones with highly virulent strains of flea beetle and provides dual flea beetle control due to the combination of genetic resistance (A-G) and herbicide protection. Plant height at maturity is 140-160 cm, and the flower tongue color is light yellow. SY AVENGER is characterized by high flexibility regarding sowing dates, which is especially important when reseeding cereal crops or changing agronomic schedules. It is resistant to heat and drought, as confirmed by successful use of the hybrid in extreme dry conditions while maintaining farmers' profitability. The hybrid demonstrates high oil content at 50-52%, one of the highest on the market, as well as resistance to diseases such as false powdery mildew, gray mold, and phomopsis. SY AVENGER is recommended to be grown using conventional, minimal, or no-till soil preparation. The hybrid is suitable for various regions, including the Central Chernozem, Lower Volga, Ural, and others, with recommended plant density before harvest depending on moisture availability.
