Sunflower Ajio

Yield stability under biotic stress

The «Azhyo» sunflower hybrid from «Henezis Sidz» is a breeding product designed for farmers who prioritize reliability in the changing climate of Ukraine. Originators Yaroslav and Myroslav Parii focused on comprehensive phytosanitary resistance, which is critical for areas with high infection pressure.

A genetic shield against diseases

The key feature of «Azhyo» is its genetic armor against a complex of the most dangerous diseases. Unlike many hybrids that require intensive fungicide protection, this sunflower shows high tolerance to:

• White and ash (charcoal) rot;
• Downy mildew (peronosporosis);
• Phomopsis;
• Powdery mildew.

This is not just a marketing claim, but the result of years of breeding aimed at maintaining leaf health until physiological maturity, which directly translates into grain filling and oil accumulation.

Biological potential and specifications

The hybrid belongs to the medium-early maturity group, with a vegetation period of 100 to 120 days depending on the region. This allows «Azhyo» to effectively utilize early spring moisture and avoid peak summer temperatures during the flowering stage.

The plant reaches a height of 170–190 cm, ensuring a robust habit and a large photosynthetic surface area. With proper cultivation technology, the oil content in the seeds ranges from 45% to 55%, making it highly attractive for processing plants.

Why choose «Azhyo»?

This hybrid is an optimal solution for farms with intensive crop rotation, where the risk of soil-borne pathogen accumulation is above average. «Azhyo» is forgiving of minor technological errors and provides a predictable result where more delicate imported hybrids might succumb to disease. It is a balanced choice for those seeking a mix of Ukrainian adaptability and high oil content.
