Sunflower 1959 ST

Working with Sunflower 1959 ST

When selecting seed material from NPO Galaktika, farmers often look for a balance between predictability and yield. The "1959 ST" sunflower is a classic example where varietal traits outweigh the complex requirements of modern hybrids. From an operator's perspective, this offers a significant advantage: the ability to utilize one's own seed stock, which substantially lowers the cost per hectare in the long run.

Agronomic Characteristics

In real-world conditions, 1959 ST demonstrates consistent development across various soil types. Key operational aspects include:

• Growth Energy: The variety shows uniform germination, which is vital when moisture is scarce in the topsoil layer.
• Stress Resistance: The plant features a sturdy stalk that minimizes lodging risks during the strong winds typical of the ripening period.
• Field Maintenance: Standard sunflower protection programs work highly effectively here; the variety does not require exotic pesticides or overly complex application schedules.

Economics and Operational Value

The primary benefit for the owner is the predictability of the result. When following NPO Galaktika's guidelines, the variety provides a stable output of oilseeds with good quality metrics. The "repairability" of the production process lies in the lack of reliance on expensive herbicide systems, simplifying procurement logistics and budget planning. Harvest operations proceed without surprises, as the heads ripen evenly, reducing losses during combining even when weather conditions are less than ideal.
