Bettollo

Bettollo F1 table beet is a mid-season hybrid of Dutch selection with a vegetation period of about 115 days from germination to full maturity. This hybrid is distinguished by high adaptability to various growing conditions, preferring sun-warmed soil for more active development. Bettollo F1 is resistant to diseases of the leaf apparatus and viral diseases, which ensures stable and high yields reaching from 3.5 to 6.2 kg per square meter, and the output of marketable product can reach up to 98%. The root crops of Bettollo beet have a round shape with a smooth, non-bumpy surface, a diameter from 8 to 12 cm, and a weight from 130 to 260 grams. The skin is thin and dense, while the flesh is of rich dark burgundy color without radial rings and fibers, which makes this variety particularly attractive for processing and juice production. High sugar content (about 10.2% BRIX) and dry matter (13.3%) give the root crops a sweet and juicy taste, which allows them to be used both fresh and for long-term storage in cool conditions. Bettollo F1 beet is excellent for growing both on an industrial scale and in home gardens, demonstrating good marketable quality and resistance to various soil conditions. For optimal growth, the application of phosphorus-potassium fertilizers characteristic of root crops is recommended. Thanks to its taste qualities and versatility of application, this hybrid is widely used for market realization, preparation of vitamin juices and smoothies, as well as for processing into food additives.
