Leader

Leader is an early sorrel variety 'Wide-leaved', distinguished by large, erect, and dense dark green leaf rosettes. The leaves have an elongated oval shape, up to 18 cm in length and 6–7 cm in width, with a smooth surface and a rich taste with a moderately sour aftertaste.

The variety ripens quickly – within 45 days after germination. Under favorable climatic conditions, yield can reach from 2 to 8 kg per square meter, and under optimal conditions grows more than 3 kg/m². Sorrel 'Wide-leaved' is perennial (4–5 years in one place), so it can be grown with an interval of up to three sowings per year.

Sorrel prefers moist soil, grows well in partial shade, and is cold-hardy. In the absence of irrigation, the plant quickly transitions to a 'seedling' state, however, with regular watering it maintains leaf mass density. Planting is done in rows with a sowing depth of 1.5–2 cm. The variety is suitable for both home gardens and commercial cultivation, and seeds are available in 5 g, 10 g, and 20 g packages.
