Welcom

Welcom sunflower is a high-yielding hybrid developed by Caussade Semences. It is characterized by resistance to sharp temperature fluctuations and major sunflower diseases such as phomopsis, phomosis, white mold, sclerotinia of the head and neck, and verticillium. The hybrid’s potential yield reaches 51.1 centners per hectare, with oil content around 50.1%. The plant’s vegetation period varies from 106 to 112 days, allowing successful cultivation in various regions, including Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, and Cherkasy regions.

Welcom is an annual plant from the Asteraceae family with an upright and branching stem, reaching heights of 250 cm and more. It forms 4 to 6 flower heads of burgundy or brown-red color, sometimes with a cream-pale ring at the center or on petal tips. Flowering occurs from July to September. The plant is drought-tolerant and heat-loving, preferring sunny areas with fertile, loose soil. Direct sowing in open ground in April-May is recommended, at a depth of 2-5 cm and spacing of 30 x 40 cm, planting 2-3 seeds per hole. Welcom sunflower seedlings can withstand frosts down to -6°C.
