Veleka

Sunflower Veleka is a medium-early uniform hybrid with a vegetation period of 110-114 days. This hybrid is characterized by stable productivity and high yield of quality seeds. It forms a fully seeded head during the vegetation period and is suitable for cultivation in regions with sufficient and moderate water availability, including northern areas of the steppe zone. Plant height varies depending on soil moisture and typically reaches average size.

Hybrid Veleka has high drought and heat resistance, making it an optimal choice for dry regions. It is also resistant to six strains of the parasite Sclerotinia (A-F), allowing its cultivation on fields infested by this pest. During flowering, the plant releases a large amount of pollen and nectar, promoting effective insect pollination and improving seed quality.

For cultivating sunflower Veleka, it is recommended to use classical soil preparation, mineral fertilizer application, and sowing techniques. The recommended plant density at harvest is 50-60 thousand per hectare. The hybrid was developed by the Dobrzhin Institute in Bulgaria and is characterized by high productivity, drought resistance, heat tolerance, and resistance to several diseases, ensuring a stable and high-quality yield even under adverse conditions.
