Victory — a spinach variety developed by the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. This variety is intended for fresh consumption and is characterized by an early maturation period: from mass emergence to market readiness, it takes only 21-22 days. Victory is distinguished by high leaf yield, reaching 21.2 tons per hectare, with an average leaf weight of about 140 grams. The recommended seeding density is 0.6 to 1.0 million seeds per hectare, which allows efficient use of area and stable yields.
The variety possesses a number of important agronomic and biochemical characteristics. Leaves contain 15.3% dry matter, 1.92% total sugar, and a high level of vitamin C — 84.2 mg per 100 grams of product. At the same time, nitrate content is at a safe level — 290 mg per kilogram. Victory is resistant to bolting and tolerates dense plantings, making it versatile for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, both in open ground and under protective structures.
The development and improvement of vegetable crop varieties, including the spinach variety Victory, have been carried out at the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine since 1947. Over this time, significant experience has been accumulated and an effective selection methodology has been formed, aimed at creating a gene pool and developing competitive varieties adapted to Ukrainian conditions. Thanks to the scientific work of leading breeders and modern technologies, Victory is a reliable choice for farmers and gardeners seeking to obtain a high-quality and nutritious product.
