Description SANDPIPER SMART
Sugar beet variety SANDPIPER SMART was developed by French breeders of the company Florimond Depres and belongs to mid-season varieties with a vegetative period of 140 to 150 days. The roots have a cylindrical-conical shape, average weight is about 700-766 grams, and yield reaches 546 centners per hectare. The sugar content of the beet is high — around 21.8%, making this variety attractive for sugar and molasses production.

One of the key features of this variety is its high resistance to diseases and pests, including cercospora, powdery mildew, and root rot. Additionally, the beet shows drought resistance, ensuring stable yields under various climatic conditions. The root is deeply embedded in the soil and has a relatively smooth surface, which facilitates harvesting and reduces soil adhesion.

To enhance cultivation efficiency and protect against weeds and diseases, it is recommended to use the CONVIZO® SMART technology, which involves double herbicide application and weed control. This system reduces the number of treatments and improves harvest quality. The SANDPIPER SMART variety is widely used both in culinary applications for borscht and kvass, and for feed and technical purposes.
