Description KAMYSHINSKY 73
The KAMYSHINSKY 73 variety is a safflower type developed at GNU Nizhne-Volga Research Institute of Agricultural Sciences to achieve high linoleic acid content (up to 80%) in the oil. Consequently, it is widely used in both the food industry and for biofuel production.

The crop is characterized by drought and weed resistance, allowing cultivation in regions with limited access to irrigation. The vegetative period lasts up to 127 days, while the mass of 1000 seeds ranges from 40.2 to 48.6 g. The plant stem is bare, erect, and branched, reaching a height of 60-70 cm. The leaves are sessile and leathery, which reduces water loss.

In the period 1998-2000, the yield of KAMYSHINSKY 73 ranged from 7.3 to 11.7 c/ha, with an oil content of 31.4% and protein content reaching 16.6%. The inflorescences are corolla-shaped, 2-3 cm in diameter, with tubular orange flowers. The crop is suitable for mechanized harvesting and showed no disease damage under field conditions.
