Consul rice is a rice variety developed by the Ukrainian National Academy of Agrarian Sciences (NAAN) Rice Institute, characterized by high productivity and increased yield. This variety is advantageous for cultivation in Ukraine, making it attractive to domestic agricultural producers. Consul demonstrates good adaptation to local conditions and ensures a stable harvest of high-quality grain.
For successful cultivation of Consul rice, a balanced fertilization program is required, taking into account different growth and development stages of the plant. During early growth stages, active nitrogen accumulation occurs in vegetative organs, which is later translocated to the grains after flowering. During this period, carbohydrates are also transported from vegetative parts to the grains, promoting their formation and filling. Vegetative stages are marked by active protein synthesis, while reproductive stages see increased synthesis of cell wall substances, with protein synthesis continuing. Active starch synthesis begins during the ripening stage. An important aspect of rice nutrition is the mobility sequence of nutrients: phosphorus, nitrogen, sulfur, magnesium, potassium, and calcium.
Consul rice is suitable for preparing various dishes due to its quality characteristics. After cooking, the grains retain their shape, do not break down, and have a tender texture, making them ideal for pilaf, risotto, sushi, and other Asian dishes. This rice does not clump and has a pleasant aroma, valued both in home cooking and professional cuisine.
