Strawberry Corrado

Stability and Classic Reliability in Strawberry Production

The garden strawberry variety 'Corrado' holds a firm position in the segment of classic non-remontant crops. For farmers and garden owners alike, this variety represents a predictable harvest, prioritizing fruit quality and straightforward agronomy in open-field conditions.

Agronomic Features and Productivity

Unlike modern, demanding hybrids, 'Corrado' demonstrates high adaptability to climatic fluctuations. Its fruiting occurs in a single, concentrated wave, which is extremely convenient for commercial operations focused on wholesale or peak-season sales. Key characteristics determining the crop's profitability include:

• Fruiting type: Non-remontant (single harvest).
• Average berry weight: 10–20 grams.
• Cultivation method: Primarily open ground.

Although a berry weight of 10–20 grams is considered average by today’s standards, 'Corrado' excels in consistency and flavor profile. The berries feature a firm texture, which allows them to retain their commercial appeal during transport—a factor often overlooked when selecting new, 'ultra-large' varieties.

Why Choose 'Corrado' Today

The strawberry market is saturated with options, yet 'Corrado' remains in demand due to its balanced combination of low-maintenance requirements and great taste. This variety does not require specific greenhouse conditions or complex fertilization protocols, making it an optimal choice for growers who value operational reliability. It is a time-tested workhorse that ensures a stable harvest without the risks associated with the sensitivity of more exotic varieties to weather changes.
