Developed by the Prykarpatska State Agricultural Research Station of the NAAS, the 'Pegas' hybrid is a testament to the effectiveness of Ukrainian selective breeding. As a simple linear hybrid, it is specifically designed for growers who prioritize predictability, stability, and high performance in the diverse climatic conditions of the region.

Genetic Defense and Agronomic Efficiency

The core advantage of the Pegas hybrid lies in its robust genetic resistance to a wide range of pathogens that frequently threaten rapeseed yields. By incorporating advanced resistance traits, this hybrid effectively minimizes the need for intensive fungicide applications, offering protection against:

• Alternaria, white rot, and gray rot.
• Septoria, phoma, and brown spot.
• Peronospora, coal rot, and plant rust.

This genetic shield ensures that the plant remains healthy throughout its development cycle, allowing it to reach its full potential. With a yield potential of 50–60 centners per hectare, Pegas stands out as a highly competitive option in the intensive farming segment.

Cultivation and Performance

Pegas offers excellent flexibility regarding plant density. Depending on soil moisture and regional specifics, the recommended seeding rate ranges from 400,000 to 600,000 plants per hectare. Beyond its yield potential, Pegas is valued for its high oil content, typically ranging from 45% to 50%, which aligns with international quality standards for export grain.
