Merano

Merano is a late winter rapeseed hybrid with high yield even under water stress, making it especially valuable for cultivation in southern and central regions of Ukraine. The plants are warm-loving and have moderate winter hardiness, so they are not recommended for northern regions with harsh winters, such as Polissia. Merano is characterized by uniform seed maturity, allowing direct harvesting, as well as high resistance to lodging and shattering, which is especially important in strong winds of the steppe zone. The optimal seeding rate is 40-45 plants per square meter, and the vegetation period lasts about 274 days.

The hybrid forms strong plants with well-developed lateral branching, which contributes to high yield potential and good seed oil content. Merano is well adapted to light soils and has resistance to lodging and frost, enhancing its reliability under various growing conditions. The best preceding crops for this rapeseed are legumes, annual grasses, and potatoes, which promote optimal growth and soil fertility.
