Rapeseed Hercules

German Breeding Excellence for High Yields

The winter rapeseed variety 'Hercules' from the renowned German breeding house P.H.Petersen Saatzucht Lundsgaard is a prime example of a high-quality, simple line variety. In modern agricultural conditions, where the balance between stability and high oil content is a priority, this material has proven to be a reliable choice for farms focused on risk mitigation.

Agronomic Profile and Resistance

The 'Hercules' variety is characterized by a robust stem, reaching a height of 160–170 cm. This plant morphology provides strong competition against weeds in the early stages of development and simplifies the mechanical harvesting process. However, the primary value of the variety lies in its genetic protection:

• Comprehensive resistance to fungal diseases, including verticillium wilt and phoma, which is critical for maintaining pod integrity until harvest.
• High tolerance to viral diseases: the variety demonstrates strong resistance to yellowing and leaf-rolling viruses.
• Specific resistance to Turnip Yellows Virus (TuYV), allowing the crop to maintain high productivity even under intense infection pressure.

Choosing 'Hercules' means relying on the proven German breeding school of P.H.Petersen, which has specialized in creating adaptive rapeseed varieties for decades. Utilizing this material in crop rotation enables farmers to reduce pesticide reliance due to the plant's natural resistance to key pathogens.
