The winter wheat variety REBELL is a high-yielding, glumeless soft wheat variety, registered in the Ukrainian Variety Register in 2017. It belongs to the medium-maturing group with a vegetation period of 264-280 days and is characterized by low stature (plant height 70-78 cm) and high tillering capacity. The 1000-grain weight varies from 42.3 to 48 g depending on growing conditions, and the seeding rate is 3.0-5.0 million seeds per hectare, depending on agronomic sowing dates and weather conditions.
REBELL has high yield potential — potential yield reaches 110-120 ц/ha, while average yield in farms is around 92.2 ц/ha. The variety is resistant to lodging and shattering of grain, possesses high cold and drought tolerance, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions. Recommended cultivation zones include the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe zones of Ukraine.
The variety exhibits high tolerance to diseases of the leaf and ear, including septoria, powdery mildew, brown and yellow rust, fusarium ear disease, and cercosporosis. Grain quality is high, class A, confirmed by good bread-making characteristics: flour strength ranges 185-253 W, loaf volume reaches 900-930 ml. Grain contains 13.4-13.8% protein and 27.9-28.6% gluten, ensuring high value for the bakery industry.
