Veha Kyivska

Winter wheat variety Veha Kyivska is a high-yielding, medium-maturing variety belonging to the erythrospermum type. This variety is distinguished by its high drought and winter hardiness, ensuring stable grain formation under various climatic conditions. The test weight of the grain is 814 g/l, indicating high grain quality and suitability for bakery production.

Veha Kyivska is resistant to major wheat diseases, including powdery mildew, root rots, brown rust, leaf septoria, and Fusarium ear blight. Due to these characteristics, along with its high yield, which varies from 6.9 to 9.5 t/ha depending on growing conditions, this variety is recommended for cultivation in the Polissia and forest-steppe zones. It responds well to predecessors such as sunflower, corn, and early soybean, making it versatile and profitable for farmers.

The grain of Veha Kyivska has high crude protein content (14.0–14.9 %) and crude gluten content (26.2–30.4 %), along with dough strength ranging from 240–320 arbitrary units. Bread volume made from flour of this variety reaches up to 890 cm³, confirming its excellent bakery qualities.
