ORACH

Orach is an annual herbaceous succulent plant that grows quickly and is ready for harvest within 25‑30 days after sowing. The stem is prostrate, reaching up to 50 cm in height, with fleshy, juicy leaves giving the plant its characteristic "orach" look.

Orach flowers are small, yellow, and arranged in inflorescences, making the plant a decorative element for any garden. The taste of young leaves and stems is mildly pungent, astringent, and refreshing, so they can be consumed fresh, boiled, or pickled.

Orach is valued not only as tasty greens but also as a source of proteins, sugars, micro- and macronutrients, and vitamins A and C. In folk medicine, the plant is used for kidney, liver, and bladder diseases; it is also believed to help lower cholesterol and blood sugar levels. The yield of green mass is 2‑2.5 kg/m², and harvesting is done before flowering to preserve maximum nutritional value.
