Alexandrite — this is an intensive three-line hybrid sunflower, specifically adapted for cultivation in the steppe zone. It belongs to the medium-maturing group, with a period from emergence to flowering of about 60 days and a total vegetation period of 105-110 days. Plants reach a height of 160-170 cm, have a flat flower head diameter of 20-24 cm with a semi-tilted position. Oil content in seeds is 50%, and the percentage of oilseed is within 21-23%. The hybrid's yield potential reaches 50 centners per hectare. The hybrid Alexandrite is part of the Clearfield system, allowing effective use of herbicides such as Evrolighting and its analogs for protecting crops from weeds. To achieve maximum productivity, complex fertilizers are recommended, which is a mandatory condition of the cultivation technology. The recommended seeding rate in the steppe zone is 45-50 thousand plants per hectare. The hybrid is characterized by high resistance to various diseases and stress factors. It has a high degree of resistance to lodging and drought (9 points), as well as to shattering, phomopsis, phomosis, and powdery mildew (8 points). Resistance level to rust is 7 points, and to gray and white mold — 9 points. Additionally, the hybrid is resistant to various races of sunflower downy mildew (A, B, C, D, E, F), making it a reliable choice for cultivation under challenging climatic conditions.
