NS Sumo 2018

NS Sumo 2018 — a mid-early sunflower hybrid developed by a Serbian breeding program and supplied in Ukraine by the company «Nertus Agro». The vegetation period is approximately 105-110 days, classifying it as an early-mid maturity group. Plants reach a height of 160-180 cm, possess good leafiness and medium stem thickness. The mature head is convex, with a diameter of 21-25 cm, contributing to high yield. The 1000-seed mass varies from 60 to 70 grams, and oil content in the seeds ranges from 48 to 51%. The hybrid exhibits vigorous early growth, with leaves fully covering the soil surface during the early bud stage. It shows high resistance to various fungal diseases, including rust, sunflower moth, false powdery mildew, and Phomopsis. Additionally, NS Sumo 2018 is drought-tolerant and resistant to sulfonylurea herbicides, allowing effective application of herbicides such as «Groznii Ekspert» and «Express» for broadleaf weed control without harming the crop. The recommended plant density at harvest is 60,000–62,000 plants per hectare in the forest-steppe zone and 50,000–55,000 plants per hectare in the steppe zone. Thanks to its strong root system and resistance to adverse conditions, the hybrid demonstrates stable and high yields, exceeding 50 centners per hectare when agronomic recommendations are followed. NS Sumo 2018 is a reliable choice for cultivation in the forest-steppe and steppe zones of Ukraine, ensuring high productivity and seed quality.
