Sunflower hybrid NS H 6054, also known as NS Dusko, is a high-yielding hybrid developed by the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad (Serbia). This hybrid exhibits resistance to six races of downy mildew (Phytophthora) — A, B, C, D, E, and F, significantly enhancing its reliability when grown under various agroclimatic conditions. The vegetation period is 110-115 days, allowing the hybrid to successfully adapt to various growing zones, including the Forest Steppe, Steppe, and Polissia.
Plants reach a height of 170-190 cm, and the average 1000-seed weight exceeds 68 grams, indicating large seed size and high-quality seed material. The oil content of the seeds ranges from 46-48%, ensuring a high oil yield during processing. The potential yield of the hybrid exceeds 5 tons per hectare, and in real-world conditions, it reached 28 centners per hectare, confirming its high productivity.
Hybrid NS H 6054 exhibits high resistance to major sunflower diseases, including rust, gray and white mold, and false powdery mildew. Additionally, it demonstrates good resistance to lodging and cold tolerance, ensuring crop preservation and stable production. The recommended planting density at harvest is 50-60 thousand plants per hectare, optimizing land use and maximizing yield.
