SAMARA HAWTHORNS

Hawthorn «Samara Lights» – a medium-sized shrub about 1.5 meters high, compact and disease-resistant. The plant is characterized by good frost resistance and the ability to withstand drought, making it suitable for planting in sunny areas with a moderate climate.

The fruits of this variety have a medium size (1.8–2 g) and a bright red color. They are covered with a medium-thickness skin without pubescence, contain high levels of vitamin C (2800 mg%) and vitamin A (38 mg). The fruit taste is sour with a refreshing aroma, and the pulp is loose and juicy.

Yield reaches 65.9 c/ha, while the ripening period is considered medium. Recommended planting – March, April, May, September or October; distance between bushes 1.5–2 meters, planting depth about 30 cm. Plant survival rate is almost 100 %. Due to its universal purpose and high resistance indicators, «Samara Lights» is suitable both for a home garden and for small commercial plantations.
