Description Despina
Despot Onion — a late-maturing long-day variety of bulb onion, well-adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of our country. It prefers light, neutral soils and well-lit areas, does not tolerate shade or weed competition. The onion heads have a round-oval shape with bright brownish-maroon upper scales, having a matte finish. The inner part of the onion is white, juicy, and aromatic with a rich spicy-flavor.

This variety is characterized by high yield — up to 60 to 90 tons per hectare. Despot Onion is resistant to diseases, which simplifies cultivation and reduces the risk of crop loss. Due to its structure and characteristics, it is suitable for mechanical harvesting, making the harvesting process more efficient.

Despot Onion heads can be stored for 6–7 months under proper conditions, especially important to control humidity in storage rooms. This allows the onion to be used for an extended period without quality loss, making it a profitable choice for both farmers and consumers.
