Semkross — an early-maturing cucumber hybrid, distinguished by high adaptability and resistance to false powdery mildew. The period from mass seedlings to the first harvest is 37-43 days, allowing for an early yield. The plant is short-branched with a main stem length of 80-95 cm, making it suitable for cultivation both in open ground and under temporary plastic coverings. The fruits have a dark green color with blurred light stripes, are 8-10 cm long, have an oval shape, and large bumps with sparse distribution. The fruit's distinctive feature is black pubescence and absence of bitterness, ensuring excellent taste qualities both fresh and for pickling and canning. The Semkross hybrid features a female flowering type and comprehensive disease resistance, promoting prolonged fruiting until October. The potential yield reaches one ton per hundred square meters, making it a profitable choice for cultivation across all regions of Ukraine. Due to its high plasticity and tolerance, this variety successfully adapts to various climatic conditions and soils, ensuring a stable and abundant harvest. For planting, seedlings sown at the beginning of May are recommended, transplanted into the ground at the two- to three-true-leaf stage at the end of May to early June. Direct sowing into open ground during this period is also possible, with an optimal planting scheme of 40x40 cm. The universal use of the fruits, their attractive appearance, and excellent taste qualities make Semkross an ideal choice for fresh consumption, pickling, and canning.
