Flax variety 'Blue Frost' is a perennial plant reaching 40 to 60 cm in height with blue flowers about 3.5 cm in diameter. This cold- and drought-resistant variety prefers sunny locations and light, enriched soils, making it ideal for cultivation in open ground, especially in Siberian regions. Sowing is recommended in late April–May or in autumn, followed by thinning. Flowering is almost continuous, lasting from mid-May to mid-October, providing prolonged decorative appeal for the garden.
The variety was selected by Lebetskaya E.V. and released in 2011. The flax features medium-sized semi-double white flowers with a wide, bright green edge, abundantly covering a beautiful variegated rosette. The plant is low-maintenance and easy to care for, forming its rosette naturally. It blooms early and continuously, with flowers persisting on the plant for a long time, making it attractive to gardeners.
This flax variety is excellent for decorative purposes due to its resilience and prolonged flowering. It will be a wonderful addition to garden compositions and landscape design, especially in open ground with ample sunlight.
