Flax Rum'yanets

Flax «Rumyanets»: Specialized Selection for the Food Sector

The «Rumyanets» variety, developed by the Institute of Oilseeds of the NAAS, is a targeted solution for farmers operating in the niche of high-quality food raw materials. Unlike technical flax varieties, this type is focused on producing seeds with superior culinary characteristics, making it highly valued by processors.

Cultivation Strategy and Field Management

Integrating «Rumyanets» into crop rotation allows agricultural enterprises to diversify their production with an eye toward high value-added goods. The agronomist’s key objective when growing this variety is to adhere to protection and nutrition protocols aimed at achieving large, uniform seed mass. The variety shows excellent adaptability to Ukrainian climatic conditions, which minimizes production risks.

Practical Applications in Agribusiness and Processing

• Culinary Use: The seeds are widely used in soups, side dishes, and as a healthy food component, where their nutritional value and structural integrity are highly prized.
• Superfood Production: Due to its stable chemical composition, «Rumyanets» serves as a profitable raw material for companies producing healthy food products and cold-pressed oils.
• Retail Supply: Growing this variety provides a direct path to manufacturers looking for certified Ukrainian raw materials with verified genetics for the production of eco-friendly and craft food items.

Investing in «Rumyanets» is a strategic choice for operations seeking to prioritize quality over volume, supplying premium grain to the domestic food processing market.
