Lilium 'Octava' – one of the outstanding varieties of tubular hybrids created at the All-Russian Research Institute of Viticulture and Horticulture named after I.V. Michurin. The plant reaches a height of 120–130 cm and is distinguished by a compact, straight scape of medium strength. The inflorescence is a raceme approximately 30×35 cm in size, consisting of 10–12 bright yellow-orange buds with a diameter of about 12 cm. The flowers face downwards, have a bell-shaped form, and simultaneously open in a quantity of 4–5 pieces, creating an impressive look.
Lilium 'Octava' has a moderate aroma, which fades over time to a light yellow hue. The plant demonstrates good resistance to adverse weather conditions, fusarium, and is moderately resistant to various diseases and pests. Hardiness and heat tolerance make it suitable for growing in most climatic zones, except for Siberia and the Far North.
The bulb of the variety is yellowish-purple in color with adventitious roots, ensuring a multiplication coefficient of about 2–3 pieces per first division. Flowering lasts 12–14 days, begins in mid-July and peaks around July 16. Due to its compactness, bright colors, and moderate scent, 'Octava' is ideal for both garden beds and exhibition compositions.
