Lettuce SYNTHESIS

Reliable consistency in heading lettuce production

The 'Sintez' lettuce variety, developed by the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Growing, represents a standard of consistency for growers who prioritize predictable outcomes over flashy, high-maintenance hybrids. Positioned as a mid-season heading variety, it avoids the common pitfalls of extreme rapid-growth cultivars, which are often prone to premature bolting when faced with sudden temperature fluctuations.

Key performance indicators

• Type: Mid-season heading lettuce.
• Growth habit: Medium-sized, firm, rounded rosette.
• Market suitability: Fresh market and ready-to-use salad blends.

The primary advantage of 'Sintez' lies in its structural resilience. While many international hybrids require narrow environmental parameters to reach their full potential, this variety demonstrates remarkable adaptability. For small to medium-scale producers, this translates into a significant reduction in risk. It is a cultivar that maintains its market quality even when weather conditions are less than ideal.

From a logistical standpoint, 'Sintez' offers a balanced mass. While it may not compete with massive, fragile cultivars aimed at high-end decorative displays, its medium size is an asset for supply chain management. The firm, compact heads sustain less mechanical damage during harvesting and transport, leading to a lower rate of post-harvest waste. This higher 'pack-out' percentage is where the real economic value of the variety is found.

If your production strategy is built on operational stability and high-quality yield rather than chasing marketing fads, 'Sintez' is a dependable workhorse. It offers a straightforward approach to cultivation, ensuring that your fields produce marketable product without the need for constant, intensive adjustments to your growing protocols.
