Dneprovskie Odin-domnye 6

The hemp variety "Dneprovskie Odin-domnye 6" was developed in 1972 in Synelnykove, Dnepropetrovsk Oblast, as part of work to create technical hemp with low levels of narcotic substances. This variety is the result of selective work by scientists and geneticists at the Institute of Bast Crops, particularly the efforts of Raissa Kaplunova and her colleagues. "Dneprovskaya Odin-domnaya 6" belongs to the monoecious hemp varieties, which ensures simultaneous ripening of plants and simplifies the harvesting process. A key feature of this variety is its tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content of less than 0.2%, and in practice does not exceed 0.1%, making it safe for industrial use and eliminating any narcotic effect.

The variety is characterized by good germination and high yield, allowing successful cultivation in open ground. The seeds have high uniformity, which promotes even crop development and stable results during cultivation. Due to these qualities, "Dneprovskie Odin-domnye 6" was long considered one of the super elite varieties of technical hemp, widely used in fiber and other industrial applications.

Despite significant achievements in breeding, work on developing and protecting this variety was discontinued in 2004 due to lack of licenses and protection for seed stocks, which led to loss of the seed fund. Currently, other crops are cultivated at the experimental station in Synelnykove. Nevertheless, "Dneprovskie Odin-domnye 6" remains an important milestone in the history of technical hemp breeding and an example of successfully creating a safe and high-yielding variety.
