Flamenco potato is a mid-late maturing table variety of Dutch selection, suitable for cultivation in all regions of Ukraine. The time from germination to technical maturity is approximately 115-125 days. The tubers of this variety are large, elongated-oval in shape, with a bright dark-red skin and white flesh that retains its color after boiling. The average tuber size reaches about 83 mm, and the number of tubers per plant varies from 9 to 14, ensuring high yields up to 610 centners per hectare.
The Flamenco variety is distinguished by high drought resistance and resistance to a range of diseases, including potato nematode, late blight, common scab, and viral infections. Thanks to these qualities, as well as good storability, it is suitable for long-term storage and transportation. The dry matter content in the tubers is about 19.4-20%, and starch content is 13.5%, providing excellent taste qualities and versatility in culinary use.
Flamenco potato is suitable for various cooking methods: boiling, frying, and salads. It belongs to culinary type B, meaning slightly mealy texture, which retains shape and flavor after thermal processing. This variety is in demand in the traditional market segment due to its high productivity, attractive appearance, and stable product quality.
